Fidelity: Our Custodian

When you choose to work with an independent financial advisor, you are choosing two entities: a partner who will help you achieve your financial goals, and a custodian who will store and track your wealth.

This appropriate separation of advice-giving from wealth-holding is one of the attractions of working with an independent advisor.

Clients of Ross Asset Advisors have the confidence that comes from working with the best in both fields.

Fidelity’s Story

Founded in 1946, Fidelity is one of the world’s largest custodians of private wealth, with over $3.3 trillion in assets under administration. By remaining privately owned, Fidelity has managed to avoid the quarter-to-quarter focus on profitability that prevents services companies from investing in long term success. Their tools, trading capabilities, and user interface are the best in the industry.

Award-Winning

Fidelity has been named the #1 custodian by the Wall Street Journal’s SmartMoney publication for two-years running, beating runner ups TD Ameritrade, Schwab, eTrade, Vanguard, and many others.

Service-Oriented

As a client of Ross Asset Advisors, your interactions with Fidelity will generally be limited to their easy-to-use website, and to their printed statements. We will handle your customer service needs directly. However, should an unforseen need arise, Fidelity’s calling card is their excellent customer service, available from anywhere in the world.

The Transition

Fidelity also helps manage your transition to Ross Asset Advisors. Their asset transfer teams will handle the creation of new accounts at Fidelity, and the transfer of assets from your current advisor or custodian.  This process is simple, fast, and requires a minimum of paperwork, all of which is prepared by us for your signature.

Although Fidelity’s actions to transfer your wealth are “behind the scenes” and coordinated by Ross Asset Advisors, we nevertheless acknowledge their importance and professionalism in this critical area.

No Compensation for Choosing Fidelity

We do not pay Fidelity, nor do we receive any commissions or other compensation from Fidelity. We are a fee-only advisor, so we are paid exclusively by our clients.

Your Money

We pride ourselves on the strength of our client relationships, but should something EVER go wrong between you us, you will always know that Fidelity itself – custodian of your wealth – is a phone call away. As a final insurance policy, you should know that you could terminate our management of your accounts with a single phone call to Fidelity. Your money is always, in the end, under your control.
